Second Life Lucky Chairs: How They Work
Updated · By the Teleport2Play team
Short answer: A lucky chair is an in-world object where you sit and, at random intervals, the chair pays one of the people seated a prize in L$. Luck decides the winner, so there is no strategy beyond choosing fair, transparent chairs.
How a lucky chair works
Residents sit on chairs in a group. After a timer ends, a script picks a random seated avatar and pays the prize shown on the sign. Some venues fund prizes with tips or advertising, others with sponsors.
Fair vs. suspicious chairs
- Good signs: clear rules, a visible prize amount, an owner you can contact, and past winners being announced.
- Warning signs: requests for payment to “activate” a chair, asks for debit permission, or no rules at all.
Lucky chairs vs. Ca$h Balloons
Chairs are passive and pay randomly. Ca$h Balloons are interactive and show a live pot, and Teleport2Play lists their current size and player count so you can choose where to play.
Frequently asked questions
- Are lucky chairs free?
- Most are free to sit on, but check the rules on each one — never pay or grant debit permission to “unlock” a prize.
